I'm choosing to offer Teen Yoga online as I miss teaching! I love to teach, I really do, it feeds my soul more than I could have anticipated it would. I particularly connect with young minds, for several years I’ve primarily taught ages 3 to 18 with a sprinkling of adult classes. For more information on why I love to teach yoga specifically, click here.
Most recently, prior to the pandemic of 2020, I taught at a local dance studio and was blessed to interact with some amazing students every single week. Since then, I’ve filmed some yoga videos and I will continue to post them on Instagram. I have also started sharing my Midday Movement videos on Instagram which are little clips of stretching, meditation, or working out that you can mix into your day-to-day easily.
But something has just been missing: the people! I don’t really vibe with teaching solely to a camera, I want students to interact with, feed off of, talk to, just have fun with!
I’d like to be your gateway to the beauty that lies within a yoga practice. I am sure as you get older and expand your interests, you’ll discover different yoga teachers, there are so many amazing instructors out there that have an abundance of knowledge that surpass mine. I do not try to pretend I know everything about yoga, but I would love to share the knowledge I do have and help open the door to yoga for you.
Yoga came into my life at a pivotal moment while I was in college going through a rough transition. I grew up with a mother who is spiritually based, teaching me about chakras, energy, the Universe or greater Source and so forth, but I never knew about yoga or even the practice of meditation. I’m not even entirely sure why I decided to try it out, but one day after my college classes had concluded, I just walked into the small yoga studio down the street from my campus and went for it! I was completely elated, it was an amazing experience that if I tried to explain in depth would probably come off completely cheesy; in short, at that moment time froze for me and I was suspended in a place of peace within my whole Being.
I am forever grateful for making the decision to join that yoga class and I hope to bring a similar experience to others. Perhaps you won't feel this connection right away, but I hope I can help to build it over time. My goal is to assist you on your spiritual journey (whatever that may mean to you), beginning at the base where we focus on breath and calming the mind-stuff through movement-based meditation.
I’d like to give you access to your mental sanctuary before you even need it, having this amazing tool in your back pocket to help process emotions and energy in a healthy way. Allowing young minds to open to the possibility of inner peace and discovering that you are capable of that calmness, that you can source it on your own in a healthy constructive way is a huge honor for me.
I would like you to know that you are perfectly yourself and that is a gift. I want to help you connect and feel comfortable to live within that truth every single day. If I had really believed that when I was younger, it would have been a gorgeous moment for myself to experience. While I might have been told this fact, it is entirely different to feel it and actually know it yourself from the inside deeply rooted within your Being; unapologetically unfiltered truth of self is your birthright.
The adolescent years are some of the most challenging we will ever experience and it is important to feel heard, understood, and welcomed just as you are during that phase of life. I choose to bring the energy of acceptance to all my students and into all of my classes, allowing each and every one of you to shine your truth and your light even brighter than before.
